7 Reasons Why Diamonds Are A Girl’s Best Friend

Marilyn Munroe coined the now famous phrase, “diamonds are a girl’s best friend”, in the 1953 film, Gentlemen Prefer Blondes. It was true over fifty years ago and here are a few reasons why it probably still is:

There is no denying it, diamonds are beautiful and romantic. They are fiery, shine brilliantly and light up a woman’s finger, hand and face. A diamond is a true classic that will look good with anything from the most expensive designer ball gown to your favourite pair of faded jeans.

They are not just beautiful, as already stated, they are also forever. Yes, diamonds are beautiful but there are many beautiful things in this world. Roses for example, they are nice to receive too. Only problem is they fade and die. A beautiful dress is also a wonderful gift but that will become worn and tatty and what about the passing of the years or even post childbirth? Chances are you may not be able to fit into anyway. However, a diamond never will never get worn and tatty or shrink either.

Diamonds are romantic, especially when accompanied by a marriage proposal. The diamond stands for commitment, sacrifice and love. Perhaps it is because a diamond is expensive that the very act of giving it means he is serious, it’s somehow
reassuring.

A diamond can also mean that the man can provide for, care and support his future wife and family and that is also very comforting.
A diamond can also be quite practical for a girl. His kisses do not pay the bills.

Those beautiful roses he bought do not pay the rent. However, a diamond in times of emergency for a girl can be a lifesaver.

A diamond can also be a girl’s insurance policy. Diamonds retain their value extremely well. No matter what else happens in life, a girl can know that her diamond jewelry will not let her down in times of need in older age.

So, diamonds are very precious but Moissanite (see below) may be an affordable alternative these days. However, it is man made not like the rare and natural diamond formed by Mother Nature over billions of years. Yes, now that is precious.
